‘YOUR MONSTER’ Trailer Teases Out That Crazy Little Beast Called Love

Caroline Lindy‘s impending feature directorial debut, the horror rom-com Your Monster is poised to remind audiences just how beastly the throes of love can be, as teased in the official trailer Vertical has dropped today.

Written and directed by Lindy, based on her eponymous 2019 short film, and starring Melissa Barrera (Abigail, Scream), Edmund Donovan (Civil War, “Tell Me Lies”), and Tommy Dewey (“Pivoting”, “Perry Mason”), Your Monster is apparently based on a true(ish) story, chronicling the experiences of the reserved actress Laura Franco (Barrera), who is suddenly dumped by her long-term partner (Donovan) while recuperating from surgery. This abrupt end to their relationship prompts Laura to retreat to her childhood home to take stock of her situation and recover. To add insult to injury, Laura learns that her ex is staging a musical that she helped him develop. But, out of these adverse circumstances emerges a monster (Dewey), who Laura connects with and who encourages her to follow her dreams, open her heart and allow herself to fall in love with her inner rage.

The cast is rounded out with Kayla Foster, Meghann Fahy (“The Perfect Couple”, The White Lotus”), Brandon Victor Dixon (“Power”), Ike Ufomadu (Judas and the Black Messiah, Inspector Ike), and Lana Young (“The Resident”).

We’ll leave you with the aforementioned trailer for Your Monster which promises to serve up a deliciously twisted exploration of the monstrous side of human desire when it releases exclusively in theaters on October 25, 2024.
