If you missed the supermoon last Friday, don’t worry – Briarcliff Entertainment has got you covered (in hair). They celebrated the lunar event by unveiling a brand new trailer for Steven C. Miller‘s (The Purge: Anarchy, Little Dixie, Point Blank) supernatural actioner, Werewolves which stars Frank Grillo (The Purge: Anarchy, Little Dixie, Point Blank) as facing off against a ferocious pack of savage, bloodthirsty lycanthropes.
Miller directs the movie from a script penned by Matthew Kennedy (Inheritance, Canary Black).
Brimming with bone-chilling practical effects and wild action, Werewolves depicts a hair-raising supermoon event that triggered a dormant genetic switch in every human. Anyone who ventured into the moonlight was transformed into a savage, bloodthirsty werewolf for that fateful night. As the newly-minted werewolves surrendered to their primal instincts, their feral howls pierced the darkness, leading to the deaths of nearly a billion people before the rising sun reversed the transformation.
Now, one year on, as the ominous supermoon once again looms large, the remaining survivors brace themselves in perpetual dread. They hunker down, reinforcing their barricades, steeling themselves for the inevitable return of the werewolves and the unstoppable tide of death and destruction.
Grillo leads an impressive ensemble cast, including Katrina Law (“Arrow”, “Training Day”), Ilfenesh Hadera (“Deception”, “Billions”), Kamdynn Gary (“Panic”), James Michael Cummings (“City on a Hill”), Lydia Styslinger (The War with Grandpa), Lou Diamond Phillips (Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Young Guns), James Kyson (“Heroes”, Yes Day), and Betzaida Landín (Maya, Karen).
Myles Nestel, The Solution’s Craig Chapman, and Steven C. Miller are the lead producers, together with James Michael Cummings and Jim Cardwell of Monty The Dog, Luillo Ruiz of Pimiente Films, and Sevier Crespo. The film’s executive producers include Tom Ortenberg, Frank Grillo, Lisa Wilson of The Solution, Clay Pecorin and Russell Geyser of Rainmaker Films, Vanzil T. Burke and Victor T. Burke of Burke Entertainment, and Gary Raskin and Alastair Burlingham of Sherborne Media.
We’ll leave you with the aforementioned trailer, which may persuade you to avoid the moonlight altogether, just to be on the safe side.
