Stallone as Rambo…Again?

How many of you would want to see Sylvester Stallone reprise his role as Rambo? What, even after seeing Rambo back in 2008? Well it appears you may very well get your wish. Earlier reports suggested that Entertainment One were on track to making a Rambo TV series, however new information states the next Rambo feature maybe starring the man himself.

Titled, Rambo V (how original) shall star Stallone in this iconic role where he comes up against a Mexican cartel. Of course Rambo has made the film industry a shed load of money but surely there are fresh new ideas out their, instead of re-hashing out the same old ones? Anyway, if it wasn’t bad enough having another episode from this franchise, apparently Stallone has penned the screenplay as well! All very well and good and for the type of film it is, the man has been in enough to produce an action script but where this gets lost in translation is the fact Stallone has compared his own words to the Coen Brothers phenomenal tale, No Country for Old Men. I am sure a few people will find that one hard to believe!

The story goes as follows:

John Rambo could track anyone – or anything – on earth. Now the military desperately needs him for a mission that his ultrasensitive instincts tell him he should refuse. A beast is loose somewhere north of the Artic Circle. It has already decimated a secret research facility and annihilated a squad of elite military guards. And the raging creature is headed south toward civilization, ready to wreak bloody devastation.

It’s a job that Rambo and his 22-year-old hunting partner, Beau Brady, can’t turn down, but they and a team of highly-skilled special forces kill team discover that the prey is a terror beyond their wildest imagination – a half-human abomination created by a renegade agency through a series of outlawed genetic experiments. It has man’s cunning, a predator’s savageness, and a prehistoric power that has transcended the ages. And even if Rambo and Beau survive its unrelenting hunger for human blood, they’ll still have to confront the grim reality that it may have grown immortal.

Well only time will tell. Do you think this is a good decision for the franchise? Feel free to let us know in the comment box below!
