From Spartacus to ‘Eternity’: The Farm Make Triumphant Return Revealing New Album Track Listing & New Single

Once the working-class prophets of the indie-dance crossover, The Farm are back — older, wiser, but still armed with that unmistakable spirit that made them cult icons of the early ’90s. Today, the original aspirational anthemists officially kickstart the countdown to their long-awaited fifth studio album Let The Music (Take Control), arriving Friday 20 June 2025, with the release of their upbeat, electro-inspired new single “Moment In Time.”

And in true Farm fashion, they’re not easing in quietly. The band mark their return to the stage with a surprise, free hometown show TONIGHT at The Jacaranda, Liverpool (Wed 9 April, 7pm). Tickets are available here now but demand is expected to be high for what will be their first live appearance since last year’s sold-out Arts Club show.

BACK ON THE GROOVY TRAIN

While it’s been decades since their last album proper — 1994’s Hullabaloo (a US-only release) — The Farm have never truly left the cultural conversation. Their immortal hits, “All Together Now” and “Groovy Train,” from their No.1 debut Spartacus (1991), remain staples on airwaves and terraces alike. Add in countless cover versions, social activism, and their presence at UK festivals, and it’s clear: The Farm are a band that never truly clocked out.

Reuniting the original five-piece — Peter Hooton (vocals), Steve Grimes (guitar/keys), Keith Mullin (guitar), Carl Hunter (bass), and Roy Boulter (drums) — the band found themselves creatively re-energised following the warm reception of 2023’s BBC Radio 2-playlisted single “Feel The Love.” The momentum didn’t stop there.

Linking up with indie powerhouse Modern Sky, the band laid down nine brand-new tracks, recorded in their native Liverpool with acclaimed producer Mike Cave (The Charlatans, Bloc Party). The result? Let The Music (Take Control) — a vibrant, euphoric return that brims with heart, soul, and the signature Farm groove.

Still a guaranteed good time live, The Farm have racked up appearances at countless UK festivals in recent years and 2025 will be no different. With their new material poised to soundtrack the summer, they’ve announced a series of headline and festival shows across the UK and Ireland:

  • Sat 3 May – Carlisle, Old Fire Station
  • Sun 4 May – Muir of Ord, Black Isle Belter 2025
