Emma Roberts Shoots for the Moon in Trailer for Prime Video’s Inspirational Rom-Com ‘SPACE CADET’

Prime Video has today debuted the official trailer for Liz W. Garcia‘s (Purple Hearts, “The Sinner”) inspirational rom-com Space Cadet starring and exec-produced by Emma Roberts.

The film, written and directed by Garcia, centers on Tiffany “Rex” Simpson (Roberts), who has always dreamed of going to space. With her life not going as planned, she sets her sights on the stars. With the help of her supportive best friend Nadine (Poppy Liu – “The Afterparty”, “Dead Ringers”), Rex’s “doctored” application lands her in NASA’s ultra-competitive astronaut training program. Despite being in over her head, this determined Florida girl Rex uses her quick wits and moxie to rise to the top of her class. NASA program directors Pam (Gabrielle UnionBreaking In, Sleepless) and Logan (Tom HopperTerminator: Dark Fate, “The Umbrella Academy”) take notice, but can Rex complete the grueling training and launch into the cosmos before her true identity is revealed?

The ensemble cast is rounded out with Kuhoo Verma, Desi Lydic, Sebastián Yatra, Yasha Jackson, Andrew Call, Troy Iwata, Josephine Huang, Dave Foley, Sam Robards, and Joshua Harto.

Greg Silverman and Jon Berg will produce on behalf of Stampede Ventures, who are financing the film.

Commenting on the forthcoming release, Berg, President of Production at Stampede Ventures, said: “Emma’s incredible wit and comedic timing perfectly embodies the role of Rex, and Liz’s rendering of this character makes the female take-over of the STEM field so uniquely relatable and fun, and we hope it inspires young women interested in the field.

Space Cadet will premiere globally on Prime Video this coming July 4, 2025.
