Echobelly Announce 2025 UK Anniversary Tour: Celebrating ‘On’ – 30 Years On

Britpop mainstays Echobelly have today announced a 14-date UK tour this October and November to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their Top 5 album, ON. The band will perform the album in its entirety, along with a selection of their best-known hits.

This much anticipated tour will offer fans a unique opportunity to revisit a cornerstone of the Britpop era. Released in 1995, ON cemented Echobelly’s status as a formidable force in British music, its optimistic sound and witty, often acerbic, lyrics captivating audiences worldwide. Tracks like “Great Things,” with Sonya Madan’s iconic declaration “I want to do great things/I don’t want to compromise/I want to know what love is/I want to know everything,” remain enduring classics and are still regularly heard on radio today.

Echobelly lead singer, Madan, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming shows saying, “We’re really excited about the chance to play ON in its entirety.  A celebration of its 30 years of existence!  It’s a special journey for us and a chance to celebrate it with all who come to see us on this tour.”

Guitarist Glenn Johansson echoed her sentiments, adding, “It’ll be a personal re-discovery of a very special time in our musical career.  Everything was in front of us and we were thrilled to experience the excitement and be part of that era. ON is considered as one of the top seminal Britpop albums and we’re really excited to bring it back out to audiences.”

Echobelly’s career trajectory saw them rise rapidly in the mid-nineties. Kicking off with their 1993 EP ‘Bellyache,’ the band quickly garnered gushing press reviews and sold-out gigs, leading to a recording contract with Sony via their subsidiary, Rhythm King. Their debut album, E.G.O, spawned the hit single “Insomniac” and reached number 8 in the UK Album charts. By the time ON was released, they were seasoned performers with regular press, TV, radio appearances, and two world tours under their belt.

While the past is firmly in focus with the ON anniversary, Echobelly isn’t just resting on their laurels. With a career spanning the better part of three decades and seven albums already released, the band is also planning to release their eighth studio album which they recorded at London’s RAK Studios with producer Danton Supple (Coldplay, Morrissey, Dave Gahan, Patti Smith) on production duties.
