Quiver Distribution has unearthed the official trailer for John Gulager’s unhinged, undead, unmissable horror comedy Seven Cemeteries which promises to deliver an absolute riot of gory, gonzo madness.
The filmmaker behind the cult favorite Feast franchise and the delightfully schlocky Piranha 3DD, has clearly set his sights on crafting a zany, over-the-top homage to the glory days of grindhouse horror, blending classic zombie movie tropes with a deliciously campy, high-octane premise that evokes the anything-goes spirit of 1980s action flicks – think a deranged, undead version of The A-Team.
Directed by Gulager, from a script he co-wrote with Joel Soisson (Trick or Treat, Dracula 2000), the film stars Danny Trejo (Machete, Predators, Con Air) as Bravo, a recently paroled man who enlists a Mexican witch to resurrect his old crew. Together, they set out to save a woman’s ranch from a ruthless drug lord, as no one else “alive” is brave enough to stand up to him and his henchmen.
Trejo is supported by a talented ensemble cast, including Sal Lopez (Full Metal Jacket, Mr. Jones), Samantha Ashley (“The Curse”), Efren Ramirez (Napoleon Dynamite, Crank), Vincent M. Ward (“The Walking Dead”, Devilreaux), Lew Temple (Kidnap, Unstoppable), Richard Esteras (“The Bear”) and Maria Canals-Barrera (“Wizards of Waverly Place”, The Master of Disguise).
Fans of Gulager’s previous films and die hard grindhouse genre devotees, are in for a real treat when Seven Cemeteries is released in theaters, on digital platforms, and on demand on October 11, 2024.
