The First ‘Curse of Chucky’ Trailer is Out of the Box

curse-of-chucky-trailer

The first trailer for the upcoming Curse of Chucky starring Fiona Dourif (True Blood) and her father Brad Dourif has hit the net thanks to Mashable.

The production team certainly look to be aiming for the scares and style of the original rather than the wisecracking Chucky spoofs of late. Brad Dourif is back as everyone’s favourite demonic “Good Guys” doll which nefarious serial killer Charles Lee Ray possessed when shot and surrounded in a police shoot-out. If that wasn’t reason enough to get all excited, the creator of the 1988 original Child’s Play, Don Mancini has written, directed and produced Curse of Chucky so there should be plenty of old-school Chucky goodness and the trailer certainly hints at that.

Curse of Chucky will be releasing on VOD on the 24th of September and DVD/Blu-ray October 8 in the US. “Don’t forget Chucky.”

He’s back! From the filmmakers that brought you Chucky comes the terrifying return of the pint-sized doll possessed by the spirit of a notorious serial killer. When a mysterious package arrives at the house of Nica (Fiona Dourif, True Blood), she doesn’t give it much thought. However, after her mother’s mysterious death, Nica begins to suspect that the talking, red-haired doll her visiting niece has been playing with may be the key to the ensuing bloodshed and chaos. The return of America’s favorite toy, voiced again by Brad Dourif, is unrated and full of more blood-splattered thrills and chills.

‘Only God Forgives’ UK Trailer, Clips & Featurettes

Ryan-Gosling-only-god-forgives-wallpaper-320078

Well today has been quite the featurette packed day and this post continues in that very same manner. If yesterday’s UK trailer for Only God Forgives wasn’t enough, four exclusive new film clips together with three featurettes have found their way online.

This is all great news but we must warn you before you go on that if you aren’t one for SPOILERS then continue at your own will.

Other than the odd spoiler here and there the footage certainly provides some insight into the pace and style of the film and those who are only familiar with Nicolas Winding Refn’s previous film might be quite surprised at how different it actually comes accross compared to Drive.

The aforementioned featurettes also finds Refn sharing some of his experiences from the shoot, describing what it was like to film in Bangkok and some of the fighting involved.

Only God Forgives reaches UK shores on the 2nd of August this year.

Pop that kettle back on and enjoy the videos below.

First Trailer for Focus Features’ ‘The Boxtrolls’

the boxtrolls

Following previous releases Coraline and ParaNorman, Focus Features have released the first trailer to their latest animated movie, The Boxtrolls, inspired by Alan Snow’s bestselling children’s book “Here Be Monsters!”

The film follows a band of underground dwelling trolls who, along with the help of an orphan they raised called Eggs (voiced by Isaac Hempstead-Write), find themselves fighting against an evil townsperson (Ben Kingsley) who wants to eradicate each and every one of them.

Whilst just over a minute long, the trailer clearly comes packed with messages to make, touting not only family diversity but briefly featuring same-sex parents – a hot topic of late given the Supreme Court’s recent decision to strike down Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act.

Both Coraline and ParaNorman were dazzling examples of the animation team working behind the films and the latest trailer shows we are in for the same kind of visual stunnery we have come to expect. Audiences will also be treated to quite the ensemble voice cast with the likes of Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Elle Fanning, Ben Kingsley and Tracy Morgan.

The Boxtrolls is scheduled for a September 26 release date in the US and we’ll leave you with the trailer.

Disney-Frozen-official

A couple of weeks ago Disney posted a first look trailer of the upcoming animated movie Frozen. Despite the film relating the tale of the protagonist, Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell), the trailer focused entirely on Sven the reindeer and Olaf, a talking snowman (voice by Josh Gad).

A Japanese entertainment show has since provided actual footage taken from the the film which you won’t be able to make heads or tails of from the voice over but it does at least give us a glimpse at the kind of glistening animation we can expect.

Frozen is released in UK cinemas on 6 December 2013.

Plot synopsis:

A prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, so Anna must team up with Kristoff, a daring mountain man, on the grandest of journeys to find the Snow Queen and put an end to the icy spell.
