New Teaser Trailer for Speeding Train Thriller Last Passenger

The kinetic thriller Last Passenger, from first-time feature film director Omid Nooshin gets ready to pull in to UK cinemas this October 18th and Kaleidoscope Entertainment have released a brand new teaser trailer for the film today.

Last Passenger stars Dougray Scott as Lewis Shaler, an overworked doctor and devoted single dad on his way home on the last train from London with his young son Max. Along the way he quickly strikes up a friendship with a flirtatious fellow passenger (ex-‘Eastenders’ star Kara Tointon) on what seems a perfectly routine journey until Lewis discovers that the ticket collector has suddenly gone missing and the brakes have been tampered with.

In a similar vein to action thriller Speed, a vengeful sociopath has taken control of the train, intent of crashing it and killing everyone on board with him in the process. With their options running out Lewis and the other desperate everyday commuters do whatever they can concoct to stop the train before the warped train driver achieves what he set out to do.

Enjoy the teaser below. Blink and you’ll miss the train!

New Poster and First Clip For Rowan Athale’s The Rise

The Rise_Quad

Today sees the release of a brand new poster (left) and very first clip for the soon-to-be-released feature directorial debut from writer/director Rowan Athale, The Rise. The film boasts some of Britain’s hottent rising talent such as Luke Treadaway (Attack the Block, Clash of the Titans) and Iwan Rheon (Wild Bill) alongside acting aristocrats such as Timothy Spall (Secrets & Lies, The King’s Speech).

From the producers behind of Cherry Tree Lane and Ill Manors, The Rise is a heist thriller which was filmed on location in Leeds and Yorkshire and delivered with unexpected originality, with many a cast member commenting on just how much ad-libbing became involved as Athale believed there was only so much dialogue you can write.

The Rise will be heading to UK cinemas, VOD and iTunes this 20th of September swiftly followed by the DVD and Blu-Ray release on the 30th of September.

We’ll leave you with the aforementioned clip.

Battered, bruised and under arrest, Harvey Miller (Treadaway) sits in a police interview room facing interrogation. Clutching a stack of eyewitness statements, Detective Inspector West (Spall) has no doubt as to Harvey’s part in a foiled robbery, and the subsequent attempted murder of local businessman Steven Roper (Maskell).

Denying nothing, Harvey agrees to tell his version of events in full. We take in his release from prison a month earlier and the malevolent, unjust act that put him there. We see his emotional reunion with his sibling-like best friends, and the immovable loyalty they have for one another. We see the rekindling of a lost love, a second chance for two people meant for each other. We see the ingenious planning of the ill-fated robbery, the amazing twist, the shocking outcome, and the real driving force behind it – retribution. What unfolds is an exhilarating, moving and often hilarious story of loyalty, jealousy, friendship, revenge and the pursuit of happiness.

First Footage From Terry Gilliam’s Sci-Fier The Zero Theorem

zero theorem cinemachords

Following the screening of Terry Gilliam‘s fantasy sci-fi movie The Zero Theorem at this year’s Venice Film Festival last weekend, Entertainment Weekly have now posted the first footage taken from the film.

Describing the clip himself, Gilliam stated:

“The scene is a man going to work and a man leaving the safety of his burnt out chapel and being attacked by the modern world with all of its noises and all of its advertising and all these things that confuse and confound and make us all crazy.”

Christoph Waltz features in the clip who plays the film’s protagonist, Qohen Leth, described as an eccentric, reclusive computer hacker plagued with discovering the very reason behind our existence. The only problem is that the Management throw a spanner in his works by sending a teenager and a lusty love interest to throw him off track.

The Zero Theorem also co-stars Matt Damon, David Thewlis and Tilda Swinton and although the film has release dates slated for both Italy and Russia there are no distributors on board for the US or UK to date.

We’ll leave you with the aforementioned footage.

Elysium Featurette Revealing the Production Behind the Droids

With Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium releasing in the UK on the 21st of August and this very Friday in the US an all new featurette has been released via Yahoo.

Elysium features a range of robots, or droids, that are seamlessly integrated into the world thanks to Blomkamp enlisting the help of his Distric 9 cohorts, Weta, to design the droids. The new featurette takes an in depth look into that side of the production and features some more exclusive footage.

Enjoy the droids making of featurette below:

Plot Synopsis
In the year 2154 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes, a government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

Curse of Chucky Red Band Trailer Unleashed

After this morning’s raunchy trailer for We’re The Millers featuring Jennifer Aniston we now have another red band trailer featuring yet another doll, Chucky. One of my favourite teenage movie memories has to be the original 1988 Child’s Play which unfortunately lead to a franchise nose dive when a more farcical approach was adopted, particularly with 1998′s Bride of Chucky and 2004′s Seed of Chucky. Given the recent wave after wave after wave of half decent horror remakes it looks like someone on the Chucky production team have taken note with the franchise looking to be heading back to its roots with Curse of Chucky, the first entry in the franchise after almost a decade.

Brad Dourif will be making a welcome return as the demonic doll, which suddenly turns up at the doorstep of Nica (played by Dourif’s daughter Fiona Dourif). It’s not long before bodies begin piling up and Nica begins to suspect that the innocent-looking Good Guy doll may not be quite as innocent as she thought.

Curse of Chucky will receive it’s UK premier this 22nd of August at the Film4 FrightFest which director/writer, Don Mancini, will also be attending.

We’ll leave you with the latest red-band trailer released by Bloody Disgusting.

Another Sexy Shower Scene in Another Red Band Trailer for ‘We’re the Millers’

Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston are just three weeks away from trying stepping into big league drug smuggling taking merchandise over the Mexican border with fake kids Will Poulter and Emma Roberts in tow as We’re the Millers gets its UK release.

The previous red band trailer went down particularly well thanks to a certain Aniston strutting her stuff as a stripper so today we’re happy to bring yet another raunchy red band offering. Comedies have been few and far between this summer, with the exception of animated movies, so this could well be the sleeper comedy hit we were all waiting for, particularly given the brilliant supporting cast including the likes of Nick Offerman (Parks & Recreation) and Kathryn Hahn (Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy). We also have quite a penchant for the film’s director, Rawson Marshall Thurber, who served up the delight that was, and still is, Dodgeball back in 2014 so we’re keen to catch this when it hits cinemas this 23rd of August.

We’ll leave you with aforementioned new red band trailer for We’re the Millers introduced by Sudeikis and Aniston themselves. Given the raunchy nature of the video this is strictly NSFW:

British director, writer and producer team The Ford Brothers have released the official poster for their Indian-set zombie road movie The Dead 2: India ahead of its sold-out launch night world premiere at this year’s Film4 FrightFest.

‘Lone Survivor’ Trailer. SEAL Team 10 Suited, Booted and Bearded

Universal has unleashed the first trailer for Peter Berg‘s latest movie Lone Survivor, following up his previous collaboration with said studio with Battleship.

Berg has turned his hand from a HASBRO game adaptation to a Navy SEAL action movie based on the failed 2005 “Operation Red Wings” mission involving four members of SEAL Team 10 who were tasked to capture or kill notorious Taliban leader, Ahmad Shahd.

Based on the title of the film you can imagine how many actually make it out alive. Said survivor was Marcus Luttrell (Mark Wahlberg) who later went on two write a book on his experiences with Patrick Robinson entitled “Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of Seal Team 10” which this film was based on. On various occasions Lutrell highlighted how important it was for the film to be as realistic as possible and if the trailer is anything to go by Berg has paid close attention to Lutrell’s wishes.

The four SEAL Team 10 soldiers are played by Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch and Ben Foster with a supporting role from Eric Bana.

Sandra Bullock Becomes Detached in Stellar ‘Gravity’ Clip

Mere days after a lengthy reveal clip at this year’s Comic-Con San Diego Warner Bros. have now released part of said snipper as a new trailer of sorts. This new clip features exclusive ‘untrimmed’ footage showing the technical mastery we can except when the film releases in October.

Today’s footage finds stars George Clooney and Sandra Bullock hard at work during a routine spacewalk which rapidly turns deadly as they find themselves facing debris hurtling towards them from a destroyed satellite. Although digital trickery is at play there’s certainly no disagreeing that all the weaving and winding on show is one giant step for movie makers.

The only thing we’re left concerned about is where Dr. Ryan Stone ends up next…

Following it’s premiere in Venice and screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, Gravity will open in the US on October 4 and in the UK on October 18.

GRAVITY, directed by Oscar® nominee Alfonso Cuaron, stars Oscar® winners Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in a heart-pounding thriller that pulls you into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space.  Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney).  But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes.  The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.  The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue.  As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left.  But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
