Tom Cruise & Emily Blunt in New ‘All You Need Is Kill’ Image

With Comic-Con preparing for blast of this week, the internet is becoming resident to all manner of sneak peeks, first looks, exclusive images, etc, etc…

Another film to get the sneak peek treatment, in the form of a new image of Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, is Doug Liman‘s All You Need Is Kill, an adaptation of the book by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. The film follows Cruise as a military officer, meeting his fate, in minutes, at the arms of an alien race in a doomed combat mission. His character awakes only to find himself having to relive the same day over and over again, giving him an opportunity not only to become a better soldier but possible change his fate.

The film, co-starring Charlotte Riley and Bill Paxton is set for a June 6, 2014 US release date. Whilst no release date has been confirmed for the UK it is now being reported that the international title of the film has been changed to Edge of Tomorrow which certainly makes a lot more sense as I can’t help getting a certain Beatles track out of my head with the original title.

Take a look at the brand new image of Cruise and Blunt below:

1st UK Trailer for ‘Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom’

For those who can’t get enough of Idris Elba – me for one, particularly hooked to the current season of Luther – today we have the first-look trailer and posters for Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom.

The film, headed up by an ensemble British cast, with Elba starring as Nelson Mandela and Naomi Harris as Winnie, spans the extraordinary life of the South African President chronicling his childhood in a rural village, his coming of age, education and 27 years in prison before becoming the first democratically elected South African President and working to rebuild the country’s once segregated society.

The biopic is directed by Justin Chadwick (The First Grader, The Other Boleyn Girl) working on a script by William Nicholson, responsible for scribing the likes of Les Miserables and Gladiator. Anant Singh (Material, Prey) is producing and began talks with Mandela about basing a film on his life whilst he was still in prison and went on to purchase the film rights to the autobiography when it was published back in 1996.

Mandela himself certainly seems more than confident that the rights went to right person having commented:

“Anant Singh is a producer I respect very much. Given the resources and backing, he will produce a work of the highest standards and excellence, and it is for that reason, I opted for him.”

Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom is slated for a UK release on the 3rd of January, 2014 and also stars Terry Pheto, Robert Hobbs, Grant Swanby, Mark Elderkin, Garth Breytenbach and Theo Landey. We’ll leave you with the trailer and two first-look images of Idris Elba and Naomie Harris.

‘Seventh Son’ 1st Trailer Pits Jeff Bridges Against All Manner of Evil

Warner Bros. UK has unleashed the not only the first-look trailer but also the artwork [above] for the upcoming feature film SEVENTH SON, adapted from Joseph Delaney‘s first book of The Wardstone Chronicles series, The Spook’s Apprentice.

This new trailer finds Jeff Bridges playing Master Gregory, a warrior-come-exorcist joined by new apprentice Thomas Ward (Ben Barnes). Thomas, the seventh son of a seventh son, joins forces with Gregory in a struggle against all manner of dark forces in the 1700s, culminating in a battle with Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore), the queen of evil. To make matters worse, Tom falls head over heels in love with young witch, Alice (Alicia Vikander).

With this being an adaptation of the first novel in the series, we could be in for a number of sequels but, given yesterday’s news of Legendary leaving Seventh Son‘s production company Warner Bros. to form a new partnership with Universal, this could be tricker than first planned but we’re sure is certainly not off the cards.

We’ll leave you with the aforementioned first trailer.

Master Gregory (Jeff Bridges) is a knight who had imprisoned the malevolently powerful witch, Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore), centuries ago.  But now she has escaped and is seeking vengeance.  Summoning her followers of every incarceration, Mother Malkin is preparing to unleash her terrible wrath on an unsuspecting world.

Only one thing stands in her way: Master Gregory.  In a deadly reunion, Gregory comes face to face with the evil he always feared would someday return.  Now he has only until the next full moon to do what normally takes years: train his new apprentice, Tom Ward (Ben Barnes) to fight a dark magic unlike any other.

Josh Brolin Pops Out of the Box in ‘Oldboy’ Poster

FilmDistrict has at long last decided to let Josh Brolin out of the box together with a rear glimpse of Elizabeth Olsen in a new poster for Spike Lee‘s upcoming remake of Park Chan-wook’s Oldboy.

The poster, which is an actual shot captured from the film, comes from the designing mind of Neil Kellerhouse who has provided artwork for recent films such as The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and The Social Network whilst the handwritten title was provided by Mr. Brolin himself.

Along with the release of the new poster comes the news that we’ll also get to see a red band trailer in all its glory this Wednesday, July 10.

As soon as the trailer hits the net we’ll be sure to share it with you. Oldboy is released in the US this October 25 whilst we’ll be able to catch the film here in the UK from December 6. In the meantime we’ll leave you with the aforementioned poster and plot synopsis.

First ‘Out of The Furnace’ Photos With Christian Bale and Woody Harrelson

After his debut Crazy Heart met great success, director Scott Cooper is is all set to follow it up with Out of the Furnace, now set for a limited November 27th release, with a wider release on December 6th. Whilst still quite the wait a number of first look images have now been revealed online.

The film stars Christian Bale as Russell Baze, who the actor describes not as “a slick action character….but he finds himself having to confront these people in order to do the right thing. He’s only got his own fortitude and will power, nothing else.” The film was shot in Braddock, Pennsylvania and, according to Cooper, to make sure he got the local accent down to a tee Bale recorded a local man and listened to the recordings “endlessly, even between takes.” Cooper went on to describe the film as “a testament to the steel workers who have suffered through trying economic times. It shows the plight of the citizens of Braddock. They have banded together and emerged stronger now. It’s much like the process of what steel undergoes — intense heat which emerges stronger as it comes out of the furnace.”

Following the release of the images we expect to be able to share the film’s first trailer with you soon which we hope will be backed up with some of the film’s original music composed by Eddie Vedder – Cooper revealed that the Pearl Jam track Release was an inspiration for him whilst writing the film. The film also stars Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck, Zoë Saldana, Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe and Sam Shepard.

We’ll leave you with the exclusive first images and a poster for the film:
