Another week has passed, bringing with it an exciting collection of fresh music releases. Thanks to your spot-on recommendations and submissions, our Noteworthy Nods playlist is packed with sizzling new tracks this week. You all have exceptional taste, and we hope this roundup serves as the perfect soundtrack to your weekend.
This week’s selection offers a diverse mix of sounds from a variety of talented artists who consistently impress. To highlight just a few: Courting’s new single “Namcy” blends Bowie-esque vibes with modern angst. Their third album, Lust for Life Or: ‘How To Thread The Needle And Come Out The Other Side To Tell The Story,’ has also dropped today. This record finds Courting at their most direct and impactful, honing the theatricality of their 2024 sophomore album New Last Name into something leaner, sharper, and more urgent.
Turin Brakes make a welcome return with their new single “Spacehopper,” out today. The track serves as the first taste of their upcoming 10th LP, due for release later this year. The album was recorded at Konk Studio, where the band made their debut 25 years ago, and produced by Guy Massey (Manic Street Preachers, Idlewild).
Meanwhile, The Slow Readers Club have released their seventh studio album, Out Of A Dream, today. It was preceded by the single “Our Song is Sung,” which offers a unique perspective on love—focusing on its end rather than its celebration. Somebody’s Child has also dropped “Porcelain (Losing All My Patience),” a track the band says is likely their most listened-to song from their forthcoming sophomore album, When Youth Fades Away, set to release on March 28th. And these are just a few of the tracks featured on this week’s nearly hour-long playlist.
