Blumhouse, the undisputed titan of horror, has just dropped the brand-new trailer for its latest chiller, Jaume Collet-Serra’s (Orphan, The Shallows) The Woman in the Yard which features a mysterious and unsettling presence that disrupts a family’s fragile peace in the most terrifying way.

At the heart of this atmospheric horror is Ramona, played by BAFTA and SAG nominee Danielle Deadwyler (I Saw the TV Glow, Parallel). Ramona is a woman shattered by grief after surviving a tragic car accident that claimed the life of her husband (Russell Hornsby – “BMF”, Fences). Left alone to care for their two children—14-year-old Malik (Peyton Jackson – Respect, American Refugee) and 6-year-old Nia (Estella Kahiha – Will Trent, BMF)—Ramona struggles to hold her family together in the wake of her loss.
But everything changes one fateful day when a mysterious woman (Okwui Okpokwasili – The Exorcist: Believer, Julie Taymor’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream) appears in their yard. Initially, Ramona assumes the woman is lost or mentally unstable, but as the figure draws closer, it becomes evident that she is no ordinary stranger. Her malevolent presence is unmistakable, and her intentions are far from benign.
Collet-Serra, who previously worked with Deadwyler in the Netflix action thriller Carry On, brings his signature style of suspense and tension to this unsettling tale. The screenplay comes from first-time feature writer Sam Stefanak.
Produced by Jason Blum, the mastermind behind hits like The Invisible Man and The Black Phone, and Emmy-nominated producer Stephanie Allain (The Exorcist: Believer, Hustle & Flow), Woman in the Yard promises to be another unforgettable entry in Blumhouse’s reign over modern horror. Executive producers also include Danielle Deadwyler, Jaume Collet-Serra, James Moran, and Gabrielle Ebron.
Where did she come from? What does she want? And more disturbingly, when will she leave? These are questions you will only find answers to when Woman in the Yard takes audiences on an unrelenting descent into fear when the film arrives in theaters this coming 28 March, 2025.
