Anonymous Messages Spiral into Terror in First Trailer for Blumhouse’s Heart-Stopping Shocker, ‘DROP’

EVERYONE’S A SUSPECT!

Get ready for a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat experience this spring with Drop, the latest high-stakes thriller from director Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day franchise). The first official trailer for the helmer’s latest project has just been released, giving audiences a chilling glimpse of the tension-filled ride that lies ahead.

Written by Jillian Jacobs and Christopher Roach, the duo behind Truth or Dare and Fantasy IslandDrop brings a fresh and frightening twist to the thriller genre, blending Landon’s signature playful yet intense storytelling with a pulse-pounding whodunnit plot. The film is a joint production from Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes, two genre powerhouses behind recent blockbusters like M3GAN and A Quiet Place.

Emmy nominee Meghann Fahy (“The White Lotus”, “The Perfect Couple”) stars as Violet, a widowed mother who is nervously heading out for her first date in years. What begins as an evening full of promise quickly turns into a nightmare. Violet’s date, Henry (played by It Ends with UsBrandon Sklenar), seems too good to be true at first—charming, handsome, and easy to talk to. But everything changes when Violet begins receiving anonymous messages on her phone. These messages escalate from minor annoyances to something far more sinister, and Violet soon realizes that her tormentor has a chilling agenda.

As Violet’s terror builds, she discovers that the hooded figure seen on her home security cameras is threatening to kill her young son and sister unless she follows increasingly disturbing instructions. The stakes rise as the tormentor’s final directive is clear: Kill Henry or risk losing everything she loves.

With Violet caught in a deadly game of manipulation, everyone in the restaurant becomes a suspect, and the tension is palpable. The film also stars Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) as Violet’s sister, and newcomer Jacob Robinson as her son. Joining the ensemble cast are Reed Diamond (Moneyball), Gabrielle Ryan (“Power Book IV: Force”), Jeffery Self (Mack & Rita), Ed Weeks (The Mindy Project), and Travis Nelson (The Lake), all playing staff and diners caught in the sinister web of Drop.

The project is produced by Jason Blum (Five Nights at Freddy’s, M3GAN) for Blumhouse, and Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Cameron Fuller for Platinum Dunes. Sam Lerner serves as executive producer.

Don’t miss this terrifying, unpredictable ride when Drop opens in theaters on April 11.
